Our Story Continues — Chapter 2
Every story has a beginning, and ours started with just a handful of girls and a dream.
When Lexington East Elite launched girls flag football, there were questions, doubts, and uncertainty. Some wondered if enough girls would join. Others weren't sure if an all-girls flag football program could grow. We started with around eight players, and at times it felt like we were simply finding ways to play as much football as possible.
But those girls kept showing up.
As our numbers slowly grew, many players were already committed to other sports and activities. Schedules were busy. Challenges were real. Yet week after week, they continued to come back because they believed in what we were building.
We wanted to create something special — a place where girls could compete, learn, grow, and experience the game on an all-girls field. It wasn't a large program. It wasn't perfect. But it was enough to start something meaningful.
What began with eight players has grown into a community.
Many of those original players have now competed in regional tournaments, traveled to new cities, built confidence, and formed friendships that extend far beyond the football field. Together, they proved that girls flag football belongs here and that something powerful can happen when athletes are given an opportunity.
We started somewhere.
Now we're turning the page.
The foundation has been built. The friendships have been formed. The opportunities are growing.
This is not the end of the story.
This is Chapter 2. 🏈💙
Join us as we continue to grow, compete, and create new opportunities for the next generation of girls flag football players.
